About the Role:


If you’re a Financial Controller that’s ambitious, wants to have high impact and is eager to drive performance forward in a complex and challenging environment, then this could be the perfect role for you!


This is a key role reporting into the CFO where you’ll be partnering across the business and are responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting of the Group’s performance and position to varied stakeholders. You will also be a major contributor in ensuring we adhere to the Group’s treasury policy and that forecasted cash flows are all appropriately hedged. You’ll be a strong people leader and you enjoy contributing to team culture, sharing knowledge, mentoring and coaching others in your team and those around you.


This is a chunky role with a lot of responsibility, giving you wide exposure and solid ownership along with huge growth opportunities!


You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Preparation of annual and half-year statutory group reporting, in accordance with legislation, NZ IFRS and NZX/ASX rules and regulations and liaises with external auditors to assist with their review of the external reporting
  • Leading financial accounting month end processes
  • Leading the treasury and cash management function to ensure daily cash requirements are met, Group’s cash flow requirements are accurately forecast, banking covenants are met and treasury risk is managed effectively to the Treasury Policy
  • Leading a management accounting function responsible for monthly forecasts, annual budgets and a range of ad-hoc reporting to business leaders and the Board
  • Management of Group compliance with respect to tax and corporate requirements
  • Lead finance involvement in a range of ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with Finance Operations, including approval of cash payments on a regular basis
  • Leading a team of eight; managing performance and career planning
  • Attending and participating at Audit Committee meetings and leading the presentation of financial papers

About You:


To be successful in this role, you will be proactive, people centric and are willing to get into the detail but very capable of seeing the big picture. You’ll have experience working in medium-large organisations and will have an excellent understanding of generally accepted accounting practices, IFRS and treasury management with the confidence to manage FX and derivative trading with the banks.


It’ll be essential to be CA qualified and you would have started out in a big 4 firm. You will also need a solid base of post-qualification experience in a commercial environment. You enjoy managing a team and helping your reports develop their careers further. You understand how to improve accounting processes and work proactively with your team to work as efficiently as possible.
