When you’re spending 40 hours a week at work, you want to ensure that it’s somewhere you want to be. You want to be doing the work you know you’re good at, in a workspace conducive to what you’re doing and surrounded by smart, positive, and happy people. At Orion, it truly is the people who make the organisation - whether it’s my line manager empowering me to do my best work, or my open, approachable, and friendly colleagues, Orion is a place where I know I can contribute, develop, and reach my full potential.
I initially joined Orion Health as a receptionist 5 years ago. Since then I’ve progressed to Office Manager and into my current role, Events Co-ordinator. I find the challenges and opportunities I experience through my work encourage me to continually develop and learn. The team of people I work with are incredibly supportive and encouraging. I’ve met and worked with some amazing role models and inspiring individuals. Even when you're having a bad day - there is always someone around who will make you smile and get you through it!
Orion Health is journey that has taken me many places. I started as a Developer in Auckland and have since moved to the implementation side as a Solution Technologist (ST) in Boston. In between, I’ve done stints in Oslo (warmer than you think) and Sydney (wetter than you think). This can be challenging but there are always helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly people to support you and learn from.
